Un arco luminoso con todos los colores del espectro de luz visible (rojo, naranja, amarillo, verde, azul, índigo y violeta). Se crea por la refracción, la reflexión total, y la dispersión de la luz. Es visible cuando el sol está brillando a través de aire que contiene agua en spray o gotas de lluvia, que se produce durante o inmediatamente después de una ducha de lluvia. El arco se observa siempre en el lado opuesto del cielo, del sol.
