Chernobyl
Desastre ocurrido en la central eléctrica de Chernobyl en 1986, donde uno de los cuatro reactores nucleares de la planta explotó, resultando al menos el 5% del centro del reactor liberado hacia la atmósfera, lo que fue detectado en todas las naciones del hemisferio norte. Como resultado, 30 trabajadores fallecieron producto de heridas o de intoxicación radioactiva aguda, en tanto que 350.000 personas se reestablecieron lejos de la zona.
