ćelije

Ćelije su osnovne funkcionalne jedinice života (svi živi organizmi su sačinjeni od ćelija). Otkrio ih je Robert Huk 1665. god. Reč ćelija potiče od Latinske reči cellula ( mala soba). Postoje dva tipa ćelija: prokariotske i eukariotske. Prokariotske ćelije su obično nezavisne; mogu se naći kod jednoćelijskih organizama, dok se eukariotski tip ćelija nalazi kod višećelijskih organizama. Njene osnovne funkcije su rast, metabolizam ( razvoj hranljivih molekula), deoba ( jedna ćelija se deli na dve) i sinteza proteina.
