Кеш бафер је подручје РАМ-а (обично 2МБ или мање у рачунару) који постоји у скоро свим новијим хард дисковима, ЦД-РВ (ЦД који може да се пререже) дисковима и ДВД-РОМовима,која даје микропроцесору бржи приступ подацима који су нормално у трајном складиштењу.
